LAMBERTSBAAI
"flavours of the West Coast danced on our palates"
Ah, Lambertsbaai, the town itself... well, let's just say it's not exactly the life of the party. While it may not have topped our list of must-visit destinations, the sheer abundance of crayfish certainly put a smile on our faces—albeit not as iconic as the locals' West Coast grin, with a few teeth shy of a full set.
By this point, you'd think we'd be weary of the endless parade of chops, crayfish, and braai broodjies, but let's face it, it's practically written in our South African DNA to devour them with gusto.
However, our taste buds found true bliss at the legendary Muisbosskerm restaurant, where the flavors of the West Coast danced on our palates like never before. Picture this: an outdoor haven where the scent of freshly prepared local delicacies hangs heavy in the air, while dishes ranging from paella to potjie are lovingly crafted over open fires.
As you enter, you're greeted not only by the aroma but also by the infectious warmth of the locals, sporting that endearing West Coast smile. Armed with nothing but a metal camping plate—truly iconic—and a mussel shell for utensils, you embark on a culinary journey like no other. With each bite, the view becomes more breathtaking, the vibes more intoxicating, making Lambertsbaai a, not so hidden, gem we'll never forget.
